Even dating as far back as the late 19th century and well into the roaring ‘20s, Forsyth Street was considered an entertainment mecca. According to Emily Lisska, executive director of the Jacksonville Historical Society, Forsyth Street has been one of the most prominent and photographed streets in the city with its retail, restaurants and theaters galore.
