Monday was a big day for the administration and 80,000 students at Florida State College at Jacksonville. The started the 2009-10 academic year with a new name, but the same dedication to providing top-level traditional and hybrid education.

Director of Community Relations Celine McArthur (left) started her day very early coordinating media interviews and patrolling the school’s campuses interviewing students and professors. She also interviewed Dr. Donald Green, executive vice president of institutional and students services, for the school’s Web site.

Green talked about the school’s use of hybrid classes which allows students to enroll in a class and take most of it on-line. They can listen to lectures and participate from home as well as any of the school’s campuses.
