Ware has new models

D.S. Ware has opened two models to the public in Durbin Crossing.

The models are the Tuscany II, a one-story design with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms encompassing 3,237 square feet, and the Venice I, offering 2,782 square feet with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Fisher firm designs school

The architecture and design firm of Fisher Koppenhafer is designing Florida’s first Knowledge Is Power school in Jacksonville. The firm is donating part of its services to the new public charter schools program.

The building will be the old Jacksonville Greyhound Track on McDuff Ave.

Nocatee finishes water park

The water park at Nocatee has been completed and the community’s Town Center is expected to be open early in 2010.

The big water park includes a 5,000 square foot fitness center, a banquet room and a conference center as well as the water slides and towers that will open when warmer weather arrives.

Two models at Ocean’s Edge

Two model homes have opened in the Jacksonville Beach community of Ocean’s Edge.

The two-bedroom Bermuda is priced from $216,000 and the three-bedroom Cayman is priced from $266,000. They join the one-bedroom Antigua model that is priced at $166,000.

Cornerstone close To Inlet sellout

Cornerstone Homes managing parter Mark Downing says that his company’s homes in the Doctor’s Inlet Reserve community are almost sold out.

There are three new selections priced from $159,000 as well as the Kingsley, priced from $275,000.

Summer Key has tours

Site agents in the D.R. Horton community of Summer Key are offering daily tours to acquaint potential buyers about the amenities in the Jacksonville Southside condos.

Summer Key offers condos from $105,000 and floorplans range from 927 to 1,145 square feet.

The tours are available from the Summer Key Sales Center, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. on Sunday.

Madeira has several models

Arthur Rutenberg Homes has several models available in the St. Augustine community of Madiera.

The Seabrook has 2,250 square feet and the Tradewinds has 3,000 square feet.

Madiera covers over 1,000 acres, including 600 acres of wetlands, according to a spokesman for Stokes Land Group.

NEFBA hosts church workshop

Varnes Contracting recently held a workshop on church building at the offices of the Northeast Florida Builders Association.

About 50 attended to learn about new methods in building houses of worship and speakers included Tom Messer, the senior pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Executive Pastor John Blunt.

Subjects included pre-construction questions, selection of architects and the positives of bid projects versus negotiated projects.

Varnes has built numerous churches in this area including the Dunns Creek Baptist Church in Jacksonville and the First United Methodist Church in Macclenny.

Watson numbers up

Watson Realty showed a big jump in homes sold over last year. As compared with the October 2008 report year to date, 2009 shows an increase of 23 percent in overall units sold in Jacksonville.

Looking at October alone, there was a jump of 72 percent from October of last year; 322 units sold in 2008 compared to 556 units sold in 2009.

NEFBA sets installation

The installation of NEFBA and SMC officers and board members will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 14, at the UNF University Center. Tickets are $15 for members, $25 for non-members. 

Collins has new floorplans

Collins Builders now has 10 new floorplans on the market that the company’s chief operating officer says will be the “next evolution” for the company.

Wayland Wiseman said the designs are like those in traditional communities such as Jacksonville’s Riverside and Avondale. They range from 1,266 to 3,256 square feet and start in the $130s.

Aberdeen models available

Four of D.R. Horton’s 13 new model homes in its Aberdeen master-planned community are now available for purchase. The Grand Teton, Winchester II, Saxony and Lockhart floorplans are now for sale.

Within Aberdeen, D.R. Horton customers can choose from a list of standard and Designer Series floorplans. Multi-family homes range in size from 1,079 to 1,473 square feet, with condominium prices starting from $104,990 and townhome prices starting from $119,990. Single-family homes range in size from 1,322 to 3,402 square feet, with prices starting from the $150s. Homebuyers also have all standard closing costs paid, excluding lender required prepaids, when using one of D.R. Horton’s preferred lenders.

Mattamy expanding in Durbin Crossing

Mattamy Homes will build five ready-to-move-in single-family homes at Durbin Crossing ranging from 1,600 to 2,900 square feet of living space and priced from the $180s.

The company will also introduce its new Innovations Series of designer homes at Durbin Crossing, and will start construction in January of a model in the new series.  

The two-story home, with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths an oversized second-level loft in 2,715 square feet of living area, will be priced from the $230s.

Mattamy also has a model in its Innovation Series at Sevilla in the World Golf Village. The two-story home at Sevilla offers 2,189 square feet of living space is priced from the $190s.  

Taylor Morrison helps charity

Taylor Morrison is partnering with Second Harvest North Florida to provide food and grocery products to the hungry this holiday season. Taylor Morrison’s four communities throughout Northeast Florida will serve as drop-off locations for canned goods and non-perishable items now through Dec. 20.

Rutenberg has Lake City promo

Arthur Rutenberg Homes is offering Realtor incentives at its Oaks of Lake City development.

Called the Signature Sales Club, the program offers bonuses, prizes and special pricing for Realtors who enroll.

Cornerstone collects for daniel

Cornerstone Homes employees are collecting supplies for the children at daniel and is asking for new toys, board games, DVDs, toiletries and clothing.

All Cornerstone models will serve as drop points.

Wellington has MuraBella model

Wellington Homes has a new home design in MuraBella called the Andover II.

The design features Old World architecture in three elevations and includes a large front porch, two-car garage, four bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, formal living and dining rooms as well as a owner’s retreat and bath.

The 85-foot homesites overlook nature and water views and are priced from $179,990.

There are six home designs ranging from 2,000 to 3,021 square feet of living space and from $179,990 to just over $300,000.
