Building on the success of offering contemporary art by some of the the most popular local painters, photographers, sculptors and ceramists, Sharla Valeski at The Next Gallery recently went to the Merchandise Mart in Atlanta and brought back a selection of gifts to add to the inventory at her showroom on Laura Street. Most of the new items are handmade and one-of-a-kind including a large selection of framed mirrors. Valeski is also selling gifts she thinks will appeal to urban dwellers like a pocket- or purse-size peppercorn grinder, scented candles and some ultramodern leisure products for small house pets. The Next Gallery is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and by appointment.
