• The celebrations just keep coming for Circuit Court Judge Aaron Bowden. He and his wife, Vanessa, will celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary this week.

• Michael Marrese, formerly of Farah & Farah, has joined Morgan & Morgan’s Jacksonville office. He will continue to specialize in handling wrongful death and personal injury cases.

• The law firm formerly known as GunsterYoakley has rung in the new year with a new image. The firm will now be called Gunster, Attorneys at Law. The new name and logo were developed to “underscore our singular focus on serving our clients and the community.”

• Speaking of Gunster: The Jacksonville Public Library Foundation and the law firm of Gunster are having a reception thanking the Library’s many donors Jan. 28 from 5:30– 7:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Main Library.

• Harden & Associates welcomed two new account managers in the Personal Insurance Division, Susan Curin and Maribelle Abrenica. Headquartered in Jacksonville, the insurance brokerage company provides insurance, risk management, human resources administration and employee benefits services.

• The Bay Street Cafe, in the Blackstone Building has caught on to a new food trend. Customers seeking some protein can order egg whites in a pita for under two bucks, and add bacon for a little over $3.

• “The Root Ball, Blue Grass for Green Trees,” is a celebration of trees benefiting Greenscape of Jacksonville, Inc., will be held Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Event co-chairs Peggy Bryan and Mary Pietan promise plenty of music, food and fun will be available.

• Clara’s at the Cathedral, the collaboration between The Clara White Mission and St. Johns Cathedral, is celebrating two years Thursday with a special luncheon. The restaurant is operated by students of The Clara White Mission School of Culinary Arts Training Center and is open to the public each Friday from 11 a.m.– 1 p.m.

• Celebration of two lifetimes: daniel, the oldest child service organization in Florida, is celebrating its 125th birthday May 30. To commemorate, daniel officials are presenting “125 Days of daniel” with the help of area leaders leading to the big day. No time or money will be spent by the volunteer leaders, though – the only request is to wear a daniel commemorative lapel pin on a designated day, with one pin being worn each day by an individual.

• Open for business: The Beaches Design Center at 3200 3rd Street South will officially opened Friday with a charity celebration to benefit the Boselli Foundation. The store will be the only showroom in Northeast Florida to showcase furniture from San Diego-based Kreiss. In addition to the opening, 5 percent of all January proceeds will go to the Boselli Foundation.

• Staying inside: While you’d normally find the Hemming Plaza Market full of activity on Fridays between 10 a.m.– 2 p.m., only a few vendors braved the cold weather for last week’s event. By 11 a.m., only four had set up shop.
