The July meeting of the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization was originally scheduled as a month off, but there’s no time for a vacation. Instead, board members met Thursday as part of a three-hour board workshop with a broad agenda, including hearing from State Rep. Lake Ray, a former North Florida TPO member, City Council member and transportation advocate, who discussed his perspective on the recent legislative session and its impact on local transportation. Other discussion items included high-speed rail, the organization’s list of priority projects and the appointment of members to a regional transportation authority study committee. No actions were taken, though, as normal meetings will resume Aug. 13.
