Lee County Property Appraiser Kenneth Wilkinson and Duval County Property Appraiser Jim Overton witness Gov. Charlie Crist signing HB 179 Wednesday morning at Overton’s office. The legislation allows property appraisers to use electronic imagery in addition to physical inspections to evaluate property. Overton predicted the savings in field activity for appraisers offices statewide could be as much as 25 percent. “This is common sense legislation,” said Crist. “It enables property appraisers to do their job better and improve service to the people of Florida.”
