• Someone recently won a nice chunk of change playing a scratch off that was purchased at Sundrez at the Landing. A sign at the store says the ticket was worth $6,000.

• Tickets for the first two rounds of the 2010 NCAA Basketball Tournament at the Arena went on sale last week, the first time the event has returned to Jacksonville since 2006. With the help of big name schools like the University of Florida, Oklahoma University, Syracuse University and Louisiana State University, the event sold out and boosted the local economy by more than $12 million. • This week’s a fifth week for City Council. That means no meetings. Committee meetings resume next Monday.

• The big naturalization that accompanies Law Week is set for April 23 in the Federal Courthouse. Senior U.S. District Judge Harvey Schlesinger will preside over the ceremony which gets underway at 10:30 a.m.

• Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Council Chair Mike Hightower is the guest speaker at Friday’s Downtown Council meeting. Breakfast is served at 7 a.m.
