Mayor John Peyton signed a proclamation Wednesday declaring May 1, 2009 as Law Day in Jacksonville as Jacksonville Bar Association Executive Director Susan Sowards, Law Week Committee Chair Shea Moser and JBA President Joe Camerlengo look on. The proclamation highlighted President Abraham Lincoln’s bicentennial and the observance of the 51st annual National Law Day. The JBA has a full slate of activities to recognize the Law Day Observance, including a high school mock trial competition, Law Day Luncheon, naturalization clinics and a charity event, “Rendezvous on the River” April 9 at the River City Brewing Company to kick off the celebration.
