Spring maintenance is underway at Independent Square. A two-man crew has begun the task of removing and replacing all the caulk on the building’s corner frames. Considering the four frames on the 542-foot-tall structure, that’s 2,168 feet of surface to caulk. The job is expected to take at least a month. Here’s another statistic: The total exterior surface area of the building is 1 million square feet, mostly reflective glass.
