Former Judge and General Counsel William Durden (seated) was honored by General Counsel Rick Mullaney in Chief Judge Don Moran’s chambers Friday. Mullaney lured Durden to the chambers under the pretense of lunch. However, he also presented Durden with leather-bound copies of every binding legal opinion written since Consolidation in 1968. Durden’s role is significant in that he authored 264 of the 379 opinions within the two volumes. Mullaney also presented copies to former mayors and general counsels Ed Austin and John Delaney and former general counsels Chuck Arnold (now a Circuit Court judge), James Harrison and Jim Rinaman.
