• If you are headed to the Jaguars game Sunday the team is encouraging you to bring a non-perishable food item as part of its 15th annual food drive. Donations will be taken at all four gates to the stadium starting 10:30 a.m. All donations go to Second Harvest Food Bank and the first 2,500 fans that bring an item will get something from the team.

• The Jacksonville Public Library Foundation and IMPACTjax, the young professionals program of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, got together at the Main Library last night for a networking event. According to Foundation Executive Director Maggie Hightower, the idea was to introduce folks to the library and increase the number of library card holders.

• The Police and Fire Pension Fund has retained Summit Strategies as a consultant. Summit will review the Fund’s current investments and advise on future decisions.

• In January, Matthew Gilbert Junior/Senior High is holding an all-classes reunion. It’s Jan. 8 and 9 at the Hyatt and this year the event will honor Bob Hayes, who was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

• The November meeting of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission has been canceled. It was scheduled for Tuesday. The next meeting is planned for Dec. 9 at 9 a.m.

• This month marks 105 years of service to the community from the Clara White Mission and the 133rd birthday of the organization’s founder, Dr. Eartha M. M. White. To celebrate the milestone, the Clara White Mission, FM-93.3/101.5, Citi and Sam’s Club will sponsor the 14th Annual “Feed The City” Luncheon and kickoff the Community Thanksgiving Food Drive for the homeless and low-income families. The event is Saturday at the Clara White Mission from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. More than 150 volunteers will serve lunch to 850 homeless and low-income families in recognition of the occasion. The mission is also soliciting the help of businesses, civic organizations, schools and faith-based organizations to participate by sponsoring a food drive or pledging a contribution for Thanksgiving. Drop-off for food donations and contributions will be accepted until Nov. 24 at the Clara White Mission located at the corner of Broad and Ashley streets.
