How did you get involved?

I love volunteering my time to work with and help other people. I am lucky enough to love my day job, and when I can use those skills to help someone who is down on their luck that makes it even better. With Junior League, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and my work with Community Connections (through my position as a board member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association) I feel good knowing that I am making someone’s day a little better! I am also very involved in genealogy with my mom through DAR and Daughters of 1812! It is so interesting to explore your roots to know where you came from!

How can someone else get involved?

Call me! I am happy to talk about any of these organizations and how to get involved in them. It is so easy if you have the time to spare!

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

I have learned that making people feel better by helping them with an issue they might be having can be so rewarding! I have met so many wonderful people, both through my work and through volunteering, that make me glad to be a lawyer who can help someone else.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

Truthfully, I don’t have a lot of time to read with a two-month old, but I am reading a stack of child rearing books including “What to Expect the First Year.” I can not wait to get back to other books again though when I am a little less tired and have a little more time on my hands!
