• The final Cornerstone luncheon of the year is Nov. 24 at the Hyatt. Dean Cannon, speaker-designate of the Florida House of Representatives, is the guest speaker. Also on the agenda is an international business awards section.
• This year marks a major milestone for the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast. Dec. 1 the organization will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a big event at the Jacksonville Bank Building. The theme is “The YMCA: Yesterday, Today and Forever.”
• Jacksonville-based Coastal Reconstruction saw very little business over the summer due to tropical weather, but the company has added six employees and expanded its Rapid Response service to Pennsylvania. The company now operates in 19 states.
• The Karpeles Manuscript Museum is hosting a Victorian Halloween exhibit through Oct. 31. On view is a collection of original Halloween photographs, decorations, costumes and artwork from the turn of the century. Also Oct. 31 from 8-10 p.m. the museum will host a reception featuring a musical presentation of vintage Halloween-themed 78 r.p.m. records played on an antique Victrola. • Entertaining U, CoastalCompanion.com, Tree Hill Nature Center and VI Productions present “From Tree Hill to Nashville: Songwriters and Songbirds” with Nashville music producer Michael Knox Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Tree Hill in Arlington. Live entertainment begins at 10:30 a.m. and continues all day. Knox will present awards to the winners of Tree Hill’s inaugural song writing contest at 2 p.m. Admission is $5, children under 6 years admitted free. • The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library, Inc. is having a used book sale Friday-Sunday at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. Prices start at 50 cents and a selection of CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes will also be available. Doors open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and from noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
