Booktique, a gently-used bookstore inside the Main Library, opened in 2005, around the same time as the new Main Library. The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library, a non-for-profit group dedicated to supporting the library, is responsible for the opening of the store. The store is operated solely on a volunteer basis, the volunteers being the “friends.” Booktique sells every genre imaginable. From poetry, exercise and cooking, to nonfiction and history, Booktique has quite a bit! The books they sell are all either library donations or withdrawals, which keep the prices very low. If you haven’t been by to check it out yet, stop in, say hi and grab a good read.
