Tuesday was a big day for The Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum, as officials kicked off a celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the community cultural landmark. “The Ritz is very important to this community,” said Board Chair Cleve Warren (left), who talked about his experiences as a child at the venue.
With the 10-year mark comes a 10-day celebration, including films, a block party, High Tea social and a special Rent Party Sept. 25 to conclude the festivities.
The kickoff was attended by more than two dozen people, including Warren, City Recreation and Community Services Director Roslyn Phillips (second from left), Executive Director Carol J. Alexander and former Chair Cheryl Riddick. For more information on the daily events, go to www.ritzjacksonville.com or call 632-5555.
