The theme of the Jacksonville Bar Association (JBA) received some affirmation at its first luncheon of the new year, one of its first sellouts in years.

JBA President Dan Bean presided over the first luncheon of the organization’s new year and new theme “It’s great to be a Jacksonville Lawyer” at the Hyatt Wednesday.

“We are pleased that we were able to put on an event that so many people found meaningful,” said Bean. “We look forward to putting on a similar event with Justice Polston in October.”

A crowd of about 300 members heard this message along with an explanation of the process of developing the City’s budget from Mayor John Peyton.

The mayor also signed a proclamation to declare Oct. 25-31 as “Celebrate Pro Bono Week.”
