This plaque was removed from the old City Hall, which was designed by Henry Klutho and built after the Great Fire of 1901. It was moved to Jacksonville’s second City Hall (now the Courthouse Annex) when the new building opened in 1960. Hundreds of people pass by the marker every day, but may not have noticed the historical artifact.

Where is it? The plaque is affixed to the back of the sign at the Bay Street entrance of the annex.
