How did you get involved?
Friends asked me to get involved.
How can someone else get involved?
Organizations are always seeking sponsors and able members. Once you go to a meeting and start providing any useful information or suggestions, you are certain to be asked for more involvement. Regarding the Arts, I played the saxophone in a College Jazz Band.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
Find out how other people have done things prior to tackling them yourself. Be passionate about what you do. The time you give comes back in many ways. The JBA Solo Practitioner/Small Firm section is a great group and has helped to connect lawyers to network and learn from others’ practices, successes and problems. The next meeting is Thursday, April 15 at Tom Farrell’s office near 5 Points. Contact Tom if you want to attend at [email protected]. If you want to join the Small Firm Group, you can e-mail me at [email protected].
What was the last book you read or are reading?
“Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” Very interesting depiction of a worldly solo practitioner lawyer seeking to protect his client’s and friend’s interests, and the effect of outside circumstances and information on the lawyer-client relationship. Also, “The Baby Care Book.” You get it when you join the Publix Baby Club.
