YLS Sports League Commissioner

With the transfer of the Sports Commission duties from Gordon Fenderson and Shawn Arnold, who deserve the utmost credit for all of their hard work and commitment over the years, one of the goals this year was to encourage more participation in the sports league by adding some co-ed sports such as the kickball league and the most recent addition, the bowling league.

Despite my inner-magnetism toward flag football and softball, I was genuinely surprised that bowling turned out to be one of the most competitive and enjoyable sports I have participated in.

The league championship went down to the last frame of the last game, but despite the distractions of Reese Wilson’s selection of jukebox music and Matt Hinson’s glow sticks, the team of John Jacobs, Rick Britton, Deanna Coates and Brenda White prevailed to win the inaugural 2010 Jacksonville Bar Bowling League!
