Hubbard House is in need of food for their domestic violence shelter residents. Hubbard House provides safety for 70+ women and children in shelter at any given time, so donations are key to keeping their food supply healthy.

Hubbard House saves lives every day, and The Jacksonville Bar Association wants to help. Therefore the JBA is sponsoring a Food Drive to benefit Hubbard House from now until the JBA Lunch on September 30, 2010.

Items needed include non-perishable canned items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned meats (tuna, chicken), and canned soups. Smaller cans are preferable, as it is easier to open the smaller ones than to open the huge ones and try to split them between families.

Donations of gift cards to local grocery stores are also welcomed, as that will enable Hubbard House staff to purchase the perishable items needed for shelter residents, such as milk, eggs, cheese, fresh meats, etc.

If you would like more information, or would like to sponsor an effort at your firm, please contact Christa Figgins at [email protected]. You may also reach Christa at (904) 224-1545.
