The City of Jacksonville and Atlantic Way, a business development organization from Western Ireland, officially formed a business partnership Wednesday, the same day a Northern Ireland company announced the acquisition of part of a Jacksonville business.

Survitec Group Limited, a producer of safety and survival equipment, acquired Revere Commercial Marine Business from Revere Supply Company Inc.

“Bringing Revere’s commercial business within the Survitec Group is a vital strategic step in expanding our marine business both in the USA and globally,” said Survitec Group CEO Doug Baxter.

“Revere has an extensive range of products and has built an excellent reputation with its global customer base. We will look to take advantage of its impressive product range and excellent customer service philosophy to ensure we maintain our competitive advantage within the safety and survival industry,” he said.

The newly acquired business will become Survitec Survival Products Inc.

The expansion of Survitec Group was made possible when the company was acquired by the private equity firm Warburg Pincus this year. The new ownership will assist the company in its expansion plans for the marine, defense and aerospace safety markets.

Survitec currently provides products and services to government and commercial customers, including the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Shell, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Princess Cruises.

Revere Supply is a Jacksonville-based marine survival products company and a family owned business founded in 1936.
