Barbara and Dick Suddath have been married 67 years. Dick Suddath, 91, the retired chair of The Suddath Companies, brings his wife, 88, to the Meninak Club of Jacksonville for some of the programs. Suddath joined the club 64 years ago. Son Stephen Suddath, third-generation chair of Jacksonville-based Suddath, and daughter Barbara Suddath Strickland, a Suddath executive, are Meninak members, too. Carl Suddath started the company in 1919 with two mules, a truck and a typewriter. Dick Suddath joined the company in 1946, the same year he joined Meninak, and Steve Suddath was named chair in 1989. Dick Suddath said he and Barbara were married in July 1943. They have four children.
