The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce will announce its “Small Business Leader of the Year” and install officers at its 126th annual meeting in January.
The meeting is scheduled 6-9 p.m. Jan. 18 at The Florida Theatre Downtown.
Nine business owners from the chamber’s area councils and the Beaches were nominated for the chamber’s award. Each is the small business leader for his or her council.
The chamber plans to install its 2011 board of directors at the meeting, too. The board will be chaired by A. Hugh Greene of Baptist Health.
Other 2011 officers include Chair-elect Tom Van Berkel, The Main Street America Group; immediate past Chair and JaxBiz Chair Kelly Madden, Wachovia Bank; General Counsel Giselle Carson, Marks Gray; and Treasurer Greg Smith, Bank of America. Wally Lee is president.
The chamber also plans to acknowledge its 2010 accomplishments, which it reports as defeat of Amendment 4 and the 30th annual Leadership Trip that took place in October to Indianapolis.
The cost to attend is less if registration is done on the chamber’s website. That cost is $45 a person, $300 for a row of seven and $600 for a row of 14.
