• Gov.-elect Rick Scott posed with University of Michigan football players (from left) Denard Robinson, Marvin Robinson, Michael Jones, Vince Smith and Brandon Hawthorne at Wednesday’s “Forging a Path to Prosperity Appreciation Tour” stop at The Landing. Scott and Lt. Gov.-elect Jennifer Carroll made stops throughout the state this week to thank supporters. The five Michigan athletes are from Florida and are in town to play in the Gator Bowl Saturday.
• The Meninak Club of Jacksonville changes leadership and installs officers at its first 2011 meeting on Jan. 10, as film and TV production executive Kent Lindsey hands off the presidency to accountant Mark Hand.
• Meninak will also recognize seven men with more than 50 years of membership: Delavan Baldwin and Phil May (53 years), Bill Colmery (54 years), Taylor Sams (55 years), Dr. Richard Skinner (57 years), Hubert Mehaffey (58 years) and Dick Suddath (65 years).
• Gov. Charlie Crist appointed Marty Fiorentino, president ot The Fiorentino Group, to the board of Enterprise Florida, succeeding Allan Bense. His term began Tuesday and ends July 11, 2014.
