The Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony Association will host “A Day on the River” Champagne Reception and Luncheon in honor of five of its organization’s past presidents. The fourth annual event is Thursday at The University Club at 11:30 a.m.
The luncheon will feature music by Karen Boling, a Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Violist, and a fashion show consisting of Coldwater Creek.
The Guild has a membership group within itself called Guild Friends of the Jacksonville Symphony. Each year, through membership dues and the proceeds of this luncheon, the Guild Friends are able to sponsor a performance by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
The past presidents being honored this year include:
• Suzanne Perritt (1987-88)
• Frances McCurry (1988-89)
• Mary Ellen Smith (1989-90)
• Gloria Nunn (1990-91)
• Betty Boyer (1991-92)
Tickets to the event are $75 ($50 tax deductible) and can be purchased by calling The Guild office at 358-1479 or by emailing Sherrie Calvert at [email protected].
For 60 years, the Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony Association (JSA) has worked to further an awareness of music and to create strong community support of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra through fundraising projects.
