Starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, cars began filing into the parking lot at Ch. 4 for the station’s annual shredding day. Southland Recycling sends a giant shredder and workers to the station where Jacksonville residents can bring anything with important personal information to be shredded. Kevin Lloyd of Southland said by 11 a.m. his company was on its fourth truckload of shredded materials and over 700 cars had passed through. Part of the process was bringing in new containers (above) and removing those full of empty boxes and plastic bags. The event went on until 5 p.m.
