Naomi was one of 40 6th-grade students from LaVilla School of the Arts who took their paint, brushes and pencils to Hemming Plaza Friday. Accompanied by their teacher, Cheryl Lunger, they spent about three hours drawing and painting the flora, fauna and architecture around Government Square.

Lunger said it was a total Downtown experience since she and her students walked to the Osborn Center and rode the Skyway to the plaza for art class. Then they went to lunch at the Landing before hiking back to their school on Davis Street.

“I even bought a big bag of grapes at the market when we got here. They didn’t last very long,” said Lunger.
