• Jacksonville International Airport has earned top rankings for customer service and overall passenger satisfaction according to two recent surveys. In a J.D. Power & Associates study that measured overall airport satisfaction, JIA ranked No. 4 among all U.S. airports with fewer than 10 million annual passengers. A survey by the Airports Council International also ranked JIA No. 4 in North America in the organization’s Airport Services Quality Survey. In the same ACI study, JIA ranked No. 5 in the world among airports with five million to 15 million annual passengers.

• According to the meeting notice, Thursday’s Charter Revision Commission will be the last one for another 10 years. The notice says the Commission “will take final action to adopt a report and transmit it to the City Council.”

• Mayor John Peyton will be in Washington, D.C. Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday with a group from the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce. They will be dealing with issues related to the port and getting a nuclear aircraft carrier stationed at Mayport.

• As part of the statewide “Raising the Bar” initiative, dozens of local attorneys, judges and legal assistants and family members will hit the streets Saturday as part of a big clean up effort. At 10 a.m. the group will meet in the 500 block of West Ashley Street and clean up that area for the next three hours.

• The Brooks Rehabilitation Bandits wheelchair rugby team will play an exhibition match Thursday evening during the half time of the Jacksonville University-Campbell University men’s basketball game at the Arena. Their opponent will be a team from the East Arlington Rotary Club. For ticket information call 630-3900.

• Local historian Wayne Wood will present “Jacksonville’s Grandest Spectacle: The 1888 Sub-Tropical Exposition” today inside Old St. Andrews at 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. The free program highlights one of the greatest events in Jacksonville’s history and includes never before seen photos. The evening will begin with a reception at 7 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.
