The Jacksonville Bar Association’s inaugural kickball league started with JBA President Dan Bean’s quad tear on the first kick of the season and ended Dec. 22 with Cooke & Meux Bombers winning the coveted Kickball Cup. The Bombers fought their way through the season undefeated and beat the Jimerson Law Group 9-0 in the first round of the championship tournament. The Bombers avoided a “South Alabama” letdown by holding on to a narrow victory over Harmless Error 6-4. (John Mills of Harmless Error plans to appeal.)

The finals of the championship tournament pitted the Bombers against Scared Kickless. The previous match up between the two teams resulted in the only 0-0 tie in kickball history!

Scared Kickless scored two runs in the first inning and appeared to have the momentum as the Bombers left eight runners on base in the first three innings. In the end, Scared Kickless was unable to contain the Bomb Squad’s barrage and the Bombers won 6-2.
