Jacksonville’s Springfield area has been named one of the South’s top comeback neighborhoods by Southern Living magazine. The urban neighborhood, located just north of downtown, is featured in the magazine’s January 2010 issue as a comeback story along with nine other southern cities.
Springfield’s recent revitalization has been led by a partnership that includes Federal Empowerment and Florida Enterprise Zone programs, private, commercial and residential developers, arts and cultural developers, and local and national non-profit organizations including Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
