Parents and children lined Downtown’s streets Monday morning to watch the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade. The American Legion Post 197 color guard carried the American flag to lead the remembrance and celebration through the streets.

The circus is in town and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson was featured in the parade. He is the circus’ first African-American ringmaster.

There was even a mounted unit in this year’s procession.

The Museum of Science and History on the Southbank hosted a morning full of activities for parents and children who wanted to celebrate the holiday indoors.
