• One more insight from Haskell President and CEO Steve Halverson, interviewed in today’s Daily Record. Commenting about old-school politics, he said another factor in how the world has changed is that “you can’t have a smoke-filled room. It’s against the law.”

• The pleasant weather brought out a big crowd for First Wednesday Art Walk. The head count at The Art Center Cooperative on West Adams Street was 1,174, and 412 people visited the Art Center II on Hogan Street. And they sold some paintings, said artist and cooperative member Elaine Emery Bedell.

•  The Jacksonville Chapter of the American Marketing Association welcomes Chuck Bradford, manager of media integration for Chick-fil-A Inc., to discuss the marketing tactics that are driving what the association calls “Chick-fil-A’s raving fans.” Bradford handles all media strategies and identifies future marketing opportunities. His presentation will take place at the monthly JAMA meeting 7:30-9 a.m. July 22 at the Fairfield Inn at Butler Boulevard and I-95. Food catered by Chick-fil-A. Information, www.jaxama.org.

• The Jacksonville Jaguars are offering single game tickets for 2010 preseason home games starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow. The team says there are good seats available for the two preseason games at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium against the Miami Dolphins Aug. 21 and the Atlanta Falcons Sept. 2. Single-game tickets for the regular season games, if available, will be announced later. Visit www.jaguars.com.
