On April 27, the Omni celebrated the 20th anniversary of the brand’s Select Guest program and surprised guests checking in that afternoon with complimentary cocktails and champagne.
It was such a hit that Tuesday, all 45 Omni hotels in North America recognized National Ice Cream Day with free cones and sundaes. Guests entering the hotel and leaving the triple-digit Downtown heat index were once again pleasantly surprised.
“Ice cream is America’s favorite dessert and we’ve got 18 gallons of Haagen-Dazs and 15 toppings,” said Omni Executive Chef Greg Wright as he set up the serving line.
After selecting chocolate or vanilla, sundae or cone, guests dressed up their treat with chocolate syrup, caramel sauce and a host of other options topped with fresh whipped cream with a hint of hazelnut liqueur.
“It’s great to see our guests enjoying themselves,” said Director of Sales & Marketing Dave Disalvo.

Executive Chef Greg Wright and banquet team member Sayed Alamy handled the scooping duties.
Guests checking in to the Omni Tuesday afternoon found an ice cream parlor in the lobby.
