Meninak Club of Jacksonville member John Thompson, left, and Meninak President Kent Lindsey welcome Audrey Moran, CEO of the Sulzbacher Center, Monday. Moran told the club that the No. 1 reason people are coming to the Downtown homeless center is “I’m here because I lost everything. I lost my job. My husband lost his job. We went through our savings and we are living in our car and we can’t take it anymore.” Moran also shared with the club that Bill Sulzbacher, son of the center’s namesake donors, died unexpectedly early Sunday. Services are planned Wednesday.
