How did you get involved?

Through work, friends and church.

How can someone else get involved?

HBA - be a mentor to a Florida Coastal School of law student. Mission House - serves the homeless, needs contributions of food, monetary support and volunteer help with cooking and serving daily meals and at events. Communities in Schools (CIS) - ensures that children in public schools receive needed support to graduate, attend college and become productive citizens. Volunteers can become a CIS mentor of a child, volunteer in CIS after school and enrichment programs and events, provide monetary support. JALA - volunteer at “Ask-A-Lawyer” events, take pro bono cases and much more. St. Martha’s Circle provides homemade food and decorations for funeral receptions at the parish center, allowing grieving families to not be burdened with this task.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

That there are many people to be helped and much joy in helping.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“Shadow of the Wind,” by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
