A new amenity complex called The Matanzas Club is under construction in the Riverwood by Del Webb subdivision of Nocatee.
Company officials, government leaders, representatives of the Nocatee developers and residents participated in the groundbreaking last month.
The Matanzas Club is expected to open next spring.
The new 37,000-square-foot building will have a recreation and fitness center, social café and library, arts and crafts area, grand ballroom and stage, indoor pool, spa, steam room and sauna.
It is on 15 acres and the outdoor will include a 20,000-square-foot sun deck, outdoor lifestyle pool spa, four tennis courts, six bocce ball courts, eight pickleball courts, a barbeque pavilion, walking trails and two event lawns.
