• Job hunters can look for work through another First Coast Virtual Job Fair, beginning at midnight July 12 and continuing through 11:59 p.m. July 16. It will be the third this year offered by WorkSource and Florida State College at Jacksonville. Access to the site is 24/7 during the fair. For more information, visit www.fscj.edu/vjobfair.

• California Pizza Kitchen will open its first Northeast Florida full-service restaurant July 12 at the St. Johns Town Center. It will be near Barnes & Noble.

• The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida has asked the city to stop opening City Council meetings with sectarian prayer. The group made the request in a letter Wednesday to Mayor John Peyton and Council President Richard Clark. It said the practice divides the community along religious lines and violates the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution. “The system by which Council members offer sectarian prayers to open a meeting of a governmental body is not only unconstitutional, but it divides the community rather than uniting it,” said Glenn Katon, ACLU of Florida Religious Freedom Project Director.

• Michele McManamon, co-owner and operator of Sandler Training, is the newly appointed “Blue Coat” for The Players Championship. That means she’s one of five vice chairs who, with the Tournament chair, lead the 2,000-plus event volunteers.
