It was an early morning for U.S. soccer fans at London Bridge Eatery & Pub Downtown, where almost three dozen fans turned out around 10 a.m. to catch the national team take on Algeria in a do-or-die match to move on in the World Cup. The Downtown establishment has been opening early for the games, with business especially picking up for the U.S. games, said Lynn McGowan, who arrived at 9 a.m. to work an early shift. As for the fans, some like Oystein Valberg (wearing U.S.A. jersey) and his co-workers took off work to catch the U.S. win in dramatic fashion, 1-0. “I’ve been here for all the U.S. games,” said Valberg, “and the atmosphere has been great.”
