New citizens sworn in

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland, right, helps Amelia DeMarie of Argentina with a voter registration form at a naturalization ceremony at the federal courthouse Thursday. Fifty-two people from over 30 countries were sworn in as new citizens of the United States by U.S. Magistrate Judge James Klindt. The eldest of the group was Aguileo Nieto, 71, of Colombra, and the youngest was Larisa Melkumova, 19, of Latvia, who is a student at Florida State University.
