• The Legislature wasn’t in session Monday or Tuesday and won’t be Friday, in observance of holidays. Both the State House and Senate will be back in action beginning today.
• One of State Rep. Jennifer Carroll’s bills, CS/CS/HB 697, which offers tax incentives to the entertainment industry for filming in Florida, was added Tuesday to the House’s Second Reading Calendar. If passed, the bill would bring additional revenue to the state, said Carroll, and would bring about an economic boost.
• Speaking of items added to the Second Reading Calendar, State Rep. Lake Ray’s ports investment bill, CS/HB 1169, was also added Tuesday.
• State Rep. Audrey Gibson’s measure that would create a Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Study Commission, CS/HB 1297, is a step closer. The bill passed the Transportation & Economic Development Appropriations Committee Friday and is now with the Economic Development & Community Affairs Policy Council.
