How did you get involved?

When I moved to Jacksonville in 2005, I started showing up at meetings of the various organizations that I had a passion for and just continued to be involved. I learned about the Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association through the Daily Record. I started attending events and became interested in serving on the board. I found about Rotaract by attending Chamber of Commerce meetings and met people who were involved.

How can someone else get involved?

They can also show up or identify someone that they have a connection with to help make an introduction to the group. I’ve met people like Barry Zisser, Homer Bliss, Ted Brauch, Susan Lemasters, Lee Wedekind, Michael Orr ... this list could go on for a long time, but these are some of the colleagues I’ve met since coming to Jacksonville. In addition to being tremendous professional resources, they are all great friends.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

That the foundation of positive change is through service to others. In addition, I have been blessed to make many lifelong friends with others who are also involved.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“The Next 100 Years” by George Friedman
