Jacksonville Aviation Authority Executive Director and CEO Steve Grossman said Monday that AvMax Group Inc. will open an operation next month at Jacksonville International Airport to employ 100 to 120 licensed aircraft mechanics.

He said AvMax will open a heavy maintenance and modification facility for the regional jet and turboprop aviation industry. It will sublease the 50,000-square-foot hangar facility from Signature Flight Support.

Grossman said hourly wages will start at $14 to $21, based on the position and experience.

AvMax is a privately held corporation with headquarters in Calgary, Canada, and operates a heavy maintenance facility in Great Falls, Montana.

“Our market research has shown our present and future customers wholeheartedly support this expansion into the Jacksonville community,” said Don Parkin, AvMax Group executive vice president.

AvMax will operate at 14821 Yonge Drive and Hangar #1 at JIA.

Those interested in employment should contact AvMax’s Human Resources Manager, Jeremy Clemens, via email at [email protected].
