National Philanthropy Day's silver anniversary

PGA Tour Chief Marketing Officer Tom Wade (left) accepted the Spirit of Philanthropy Award from Tim Burcham, immediate past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals International, at the 25th National Philanthropy Day luncheon Wednesday at the Hyatt Downtown. It was the first such award bestowed by AFPI and recognized the PGA Tour’s $1.5 billion in all-time charitable contributions nationwide. The 161-member local AFP chapter honored the United Way of Northeast Florida’s Atlantic Circle as the Outstanding Young Professional Organization, Ryan Cox as the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy, the Rotary Club of Deerwood as the Outstanding Civic Organization, First Coast Energy/Daily’s as the Outstanding Corporation, the George M. Baldwin Foundation as the Outstanding Foundation, Dave and Mary Pat Kulik as the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraisers and John D. Baker as the Outstanding Philanthropist.
