• Brian Fuller has been promoted to vice president of new business development and planning at Brooks Rehabilitation. During his six years with the organization, he has been a key team member on Brooks’ new business growth initiatives, including the purchase of Brooks Home Care Advantage, the formation of the St. Luke’s Skilled Nursing Unit and acquisition of the Brooks San Marco Terrace Skilled Nursing Facility.

• One of the bigger social events on the Jacksonville calendar will take place this Friday. The 10th annual St. Johns Riverkeeper Oyster Roast starts at 7 p.m. at the Garden Club of Jacksonville, next to The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. The benefit features silent auction items, live music and food. About 500 tickets have been sold, and the Riverkeeper normally cuts ticket sales off at 600.

• Attorney W.C. Gentry will be sworn in today as chair of the School Board of Duval County Public Schools. Gentry was elected to the board in 2008.

• Tom Van Berkel, chair, president and CEO of The Main Street America Group, was nominated to chair the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2012. He starts as chair-elect in January. Jacksonville-based Main Street America operates six property-casualty insurance carriers.

• Winn-Dixie has voluntarily withdrawn its private label reusable bags in light of concerns over lead content. The grocer is inviting any customers with concerns to return the bags for a full refund or bring them to any Winn-Dixie store for proper disposal when they have finished using them.
