• Some annual signs of fall have begun to appear, including the pumpkin patch at Ortega United Methodist Church. Others are popping up daily.

• Hickory Foods, parent company of Bubba Burger, has expanded to the West. The Jacksonville-based business is now the official burger of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, not to be confused with American Airlines Arena in Miami, and also is the official burger of the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars and the National Basketball Association’s Dallas Mavericks. The center will feature the first Bubba Burger Grill as part of its concession offerings.

• The 2010 Georgia-Florida banners are up Downtown, but fans of the history of the game can still purchase banners from previous years at www.coj.net. Banners from the 1996 “Return of the Rivalry” game are available. That was the first game after renovations to the stadium, during which the game was played at each of the two campuses. The 1999 banner lists the site as Alltel Stadium, which is now EverBank Field. Prices range from $25 to $55.

• On Monday, Baptist Health will open the Margaret and Robert Hill Breast Center at 1235 San Marco Blvd. All breast health diagnostics for Baptist Health will relocate from the Baptist Medical Pavilion at Baptist Medical Center to the Hill Breast Center. Robert Hill is president and CEO of Acosta Inc.

• The Jacksonville University Davis College of Business has developed a new exchange program with the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. The program calls for student and faculty exchanges and also for the academy to send students to JU’s Master of Business Administration program.

• Representatives from Inside Lacrosse will be in Jacksonville next week to work on details for lacrosse games featuring the University of Notre Dame, Duke University, Georgetown University and Jacksonville University tentatively scheduled for Feb. 20. The games might be televised live on ESPN.

• When the Sports & Entertainment Board of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission met Thursday, one of the items discussed was the possibility of the City presenting some sort of car race Downtown. Former board member Bill Warner, who is chair of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, has agreed to lead the effort if the plan is adopted.

• The City of Jacksonville’s 7th Annual “Art in the Park” is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on the Northbank Riverwalk behind the Times-Union Center. Attendees can paint, draw, sculpt and create arts and crafts to take home. A multicultural art exhibit and live entertainment are also scheduled. The public is invited and admission is free. • Gov. Charlie Crist appointed two North Florida professionals to the state Diabetes Advisory Council. They are Lisa Buckloh, a clinical psychologist with Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, and Edward Shahady of Fernandina Beach, diabetes program medical director of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Crist also appointed Jacksonville resident Carol Ann Christopherson, president of Florida Service Dogs Inc., to the Florida Independent Living Council.
