The International Downtown Association has awarded its highest honor for success and innovation, the Downtown Pinnacle Award, to Downtown Vision Inc. for the “Explore the More” marketing campaign. The program’s most visible aspects were the “bubbles” placed on the sidewalks and the similar storefront window stickers.
The campaign was also singled out in the industry publication, “Downtown Promotion Reporter,” as the most innovative marketing strategy of 2009, based on the impact of the parking meter stickers that promoted DVI’s website for mobile devices, DTJax.com.
Also, DVI’s “Great Fire Party,” a nightlife promotion held in May, was one of 10 events selected from more than 200 submissions as a best practices case study for other cities.
