Checker Cabs owner Grady Braddock had one of his vehicles painted pink in honor of those who have suffered from breast cancer and to raise awareness of the disease. The eye-catching Chevrolet Impala was unveiled yesterday at the Landing. As part of Checker’s campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, drivers will be collecting donations for breast cancer organizations next week. On Oct. 15, $1 from every fare will be donated to the organizations. Also, during the month of October, breast cancer patients can receive free transportation to and from their treatment locations by calling 345-3333.
