The cast and crew of the locally produced half-hour situation comedy “In the Pits” have been taping scenes for the show’s debut season at locations around Downtown. In addition to a space above TSI Discotheque on East Bay Street (shown above), the production also has used the Florida Theatre and offices in the building as backdrops for the show. Chamblin’s Uptown on Laura Street is a future stop on the schedule.

“In the Pits” is the story of a small theater company and its tribulations in putting on a show and surviving the current economy. It is broadcast at 9 p.m. Saturdays on Ch. 17, the local CW Network affiliate. The pilot show and the 22-episode season are being offered only in the Jacksonville market, but other CW stations are looking at the series for possible national syndication.
