• Hungry? The National Pork Board has partnered with Winn-Dixie to serve free sandwiches, snacks and bottled water Saturday morning before the Georgia-Florida game. The tent will be set up under the Hart Bridge near Talleyrand Avenue beginning around 11 a.m. Last year more than 11,000 pork sandwiches were distributed in four hours.

• Speaking of Winn-Dixie, Jeff Sanders, executive director of the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters, announced that this year’s tournament will break the 21-year Nationwide Tour first-year event charity record by generating more than $1.6 million. The previous record was $450,000, set in 2007 by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational in Columbus, Ohio. Proceeds from the event benefit the Winn-Dixie Foundation, which supports nonprofit organizations in the communities served by Winn-Dixie.

• The last few months of the celebration of what would have marked Elvis Presley’s 75th year will cruise into Jacksonville next week. The yearlong multiple city celebration includes the Elvis Cruise, which sets sail on the Carnival Fascination cruise ship Nov. 4 through Nov. 8. The ship will cruise the Caribbean from Jacksonville to Nassau, Bahamas.

• Martin Slumbers, Global Head of Global Business Services at Deutsche Bank, is scheduled as keynote speaker at the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce Cornerstone meeting at noon Dec. 2 at the Hyatt. His topic: “Jacksonville’s role in Deutsche Bank’s Global Network.” For information, visit www.opportunityjacksonville.com.

• Speaking of the chamber, the Health Care Reform Bill will be discussed at the next meeting of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce Health Council. Life Planning Partners President Carolyn McClanahan will be the keynote speaker. The meeting will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 4 at Brighton Bay Resort Style Retirement Living along Sweetwater Parkway. • The Cushman & Wakefield commercial real estate company reported that the industrial vacancy rate in Jacksonville fell to 12.5 percent at the end of the third quarter in September, down from 12.8 percent in June. The overall U.S. industrial vacancy rate remained unchanged at 10.6 percent.

• Meanwhile, Cushman & Wakefield said the overall office vacancy rate in Jacksonville dropped to 19 percent at the end of the third quarter from 22.5 percent in June. Rental rates rose to $19.07 a square foot from $18.99. The overall U.S. office vacancy rate fell to 14.7 percent from 14.8 percent.

• Two new trustees joined the board of directors at the Museum of Science & History: Elizabeth Cline, president of IMPACT Personal & Professional Development Inc., and Lee Ann Clements, chair of the Division of Science and Mathematics at Jacksonville University. Three trustees who cycled off the board were designated honorary lifetime trustees: Retired Duval County School Board administrator Charles Cline, attorney Hal Catlin and Quinton White Jr., executive director of the JU Marine Science Research Institute.
